What’s the risk with a refurbished LCD TV?

I recently came across some information that I thought I’d share with anyone out there who’s been thinking about making the step up to HDTV, but has been holding off waiting for a great deal. I read an article that talks about how easy it is to save a ton of money on a top of the line set — I mean one where you get everything and sacrifice nothing — by buying a refurbished LCD TV. It sounds like a great loophole, but I’m wondering if there are risks associated with going this route. I don’t want to spend all that money, even if it’s significantly less than buying one the traditional way, if the thing is going to break down in six months. I’ll share more research as I get it, but for now it may be something you want to look into.
