Golf Tips For Beginners – Dealing With Those Troublesome Trees
March 30th, 2008 by admin
No matter how long you have been playing golf there will always be occasions when that tree is slap bang in the way and, for the novice especially, this often seems like an insurmountable problem. So, here are some golf tips for beginners for dealing with this particular problem.
A surprising number of golfers miss shots such as those in which their backswing is blocked by a tree and, more often than not, the problem is not the awkward lie but simply a failure to concentrate on getting out of it. Attention tends to focus on the tree rather than hitting the ball and this is something which the beginner needs to concentrate on reversing.
The answer is to simply take up your stance and tentatively practice your backswing to establish just how restricted you are. Then, slowly and deliberately, repeat your practice swing until you feel comfortable. Forget the tree and focus all of your attention on striking the ball as firmly as you can. You’ll be surprised how effectively you can get out of awkward situations if you forget what is causing the problem and simply concentrate on making the best shot you can within the restrictions imposed.
