Some Futons are Just Too Cheap!

I just stayed over my friends’ house for a couple of days. I wound up sleeping on their fold-out full futon, and my back’s been sore since the first night. Now, I’m not here to bash futons. As a matter of fact, I have a futon mattress on my regular bed and I love it. But I probably paid twice as much for my nice thick firm mattress as they did for their mushy, squishy futon mattress and noisy frame combined. So I wonder what the manufacturers of that type of cheap futon are thinking? If my friend’s futon had been my only experience with sleeping on one, I would have probably decided never, ever to consider buying one. Wonder how many prospective customers the futon industry has lost that way.
