Have you ever heard of the saying one is black the other is white? Well, if you haven’t chances are you have asked the question “do I go for normal mortgages or do i go for equity release mortgages ?” Because the questions fundamentally revolve around the same principle. They are completely different from each other. A normal mortgage bears very little resemblance to equity release mortgages. A normal mortgage is used to buy a home, equity release mortgages are used to maximise the value of a home and release the equity tied up in the property by gaining access to equity release mortgages.
