Worldwide Currency
October 25th, 2010 by admin
My daughter, Katie, is in the fourth grade, and her class has recently been learning about world history in their social studies. Last week, her teacher scheduled a field trip to a nearby foreign currency exchange, and the entire class was fascinated by the process. It was amazing to them that a single American dollar could be converted into so many different foreign currencies, and it really opened their minds to the global society we live in. My daughter came home talking about the trip and seeing money from all over the world, and now she’s talking about traveling the world when she grows up. It’s neat to see her consciousness expand to more than just our immediate society.
