make more money

I have a friend that just recently quit his job at burger king to start a home business. He only works a few hours a day, and he is earning more money then he did working almost full time at burger king. I have been working as a sales associate at a retail store, but if I could work less hours and earn the same amount of money, I would gladly do that. I could have so much more time to get other things done. Does it just require mlm email leads to get started, or how do I begin the process?
