If you are looking to buy a used auto and are thinking you will skip out on the luxuries, such as power locks, power windows and air conditioning, just to save a little extra money, well think again. Although air conditioning can be considered a luxury because it is not actually a necessity, it is also hard to call it a luxury when it can save you so much money on fuel. While driving in the city you will probably save a little money by rolling down your windows, but if you try that at highway speeds the wind resistance the open window creates will actually cost you more money on fuel. So when travelling down the highway to your cottage in the summer, remember to turn on your air conditioning, you might just be able to make it halfway on one tank of fuel.
